Convergent Dental Unveils New Spot Size and Software Upgrade at CDA SF 2015
By Convergent Dental on August 20, 2015
San Francisco, CA – CDA Presents San Francisco 2015 — August 20, 2015 – Convergent Dental, Inc., a privately held dental device company, today announced a significant software upgrade to Solea, the first FDA approved, CO2 9.3 micron dental laser for hard and soft tissue. The dental laser’s new features include a 1.00 mm-XC (coarse cut) spot size, an improved 1.00 mm (standard cut) spot size, and Solea Software 2.4.0 Automatic Software Upgrade feature. The new spot sizes enhance Solea’s performance and create versatility for dentists looking to limit their use of the traditional drill and deliver virtually anesthesia-free and blood-free procedures. Convergent Dental will be showcasing the latest Solea features at CDA Presents San Francisco 2015 at the Moscone Center from August 20 – 22, 2015.
Solea’s varied settings and spot sizes make it the most versatile dental laser in the marketplace. The new 1.00 mm-XC spot size ablates dental tissue as fast as the 1.25 mm-XC spot size but in a smaller, more precise pattern. The new 1.00 mm (standard cut) spot size replaces the original 1 mm spot and ablates faster and smoother than its predecessor. Solea’s new spot sizes mimic bur sizes to make it easier than ever for dentists to transition from traditional drills.
“The rapid rate of innovation at Convergent Dental is changing the dental industry in unimaginable ways,” said Dr. Michael Kelly. “Solea’s ever-growing tool set extends the value of my investment, enhances my ability to deliver anesthesia-free and blood-free dentistry, and improves my patients’ experience.”
In addition to the new spot sizes, Solea Software 2.4.0 provides dentists with capability to automatically receive software updates via Wi-Fi. Users just enter a special PIN and the latest software version is downloaded from the Convergent Dental servers.
“We are committed to building upon our dentists’ original investment by releasing software upgrades that significantly improve performance every quarter,” said Convergent Dental CEO Michael Cataldo. “Solea’s unique wavelength and computer controls enable us to offer unmatched versatility, precision, and speed for our dentists. We believe we have just scratched the surface of Solea’s potential and are looking forward to pushing the technology’s boundaries.”
