Senior Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:

To lead the design and development of electronics for the company’s dental laser system product lines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Translate product requirements to develop architectural solutions to key technical challenges
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver complete system solutions and products
  • Hands-on design of electronics that successfully integrate with electromechanical and software subsystems
  • Specification and selection of key electronics components, modules, and subsystems with supply chain considerations
  • Managing of consulting and external resources as required to meet the design, build, test, and transfer to manufacturing schedules.
  • Follow design control SOPs to produce high quality documentation to the ISO 13485 standard

Technical skill set to include:

  • Electronics and embedded systems architecture and circuit design
  • Experience in analog and digital electronics design including:

-Low noise design techniques
-Analog modeling and simulation tools
-Signal integrity
-Power supply and switching regulator topologies
-Design for EMC
-PCB design and layout
-Selection of electronic components and peripherals

  • Solid experience in designing for manufacture, test, cost, and reliability
  • Good familiarity with relevant standards including IEC 60601-1 (including Electrical Safety and EMC requirements), WEEE and RoHS requirements
  • Proven track record in managing new product transfers to production

In addition, experience with the following would be advantageous:

  • Experience using Altium CAD Software for electrical designs
  • FPGAs and CPLDs
  • Control engineering
  • Embedded software/firmware design and implementation
  • CE, UL, CSA certification processes


  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an electrical engineering design role including project leadership
  • Excellent team communication and project management skills
  • Takes an organized approach to project work from inception through completion
  • Mentoring of less experienced staff.
