Position Summary:

The Sales Manager has responsibility for all new product sales in the territory covering the NYC and Long Island areas.  The ideal candidate is an experienced sales professional with a history of success in selling durable dental, or medical device capital equipment, preferably for an early stage company.

Primary Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed sales objectives by:

Leveraging your personal network of dentists from past selling experiences
Generating new prospects through personal contacts, referrals and company marketing programs

Delivering sales presentations and product demonstrations
Tracking and reporting on sales activities

Sr. Biomedical Engineer

Job description

A hands-on biomedical engineer to research tissue interaction with an innovative laser dental device. The individual must thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and is motivated by the opportunity to work on several aspects of optical, chemical and biological interactions, take on interesting challenges and learn new technologies.

Areas of Responsibility

Apply sound engineering principles and practices to the design and testing of a laser device and beam delivery system.
Design and conduct experiments (in vitro) and tests to fully evaluate device prototypes and develop improvements that lead to commercially viable products.
Develop and execute test plans, write protocols, analyze and present results, make recommendations, and write reports applying statistics as necessary.
Develop and implement design elements for medical laser devices, for example, focusing elements, pulsing patterns, laser parameter designation.
Collaborate to drive the design of prototypes and plan for bench evaluation on extracted teeth of new design attributes and product concepts (Matlab, Labview, SolidWorks CAD software) .
Work with and provide oversight to suppliers on the design and procurement of components, tooling and fixtures for the design, testing, inspection or assembly of products.
Stay abreast with latest relevant technology through literature, seminars, conferences, academia and industry.
Participate in project teams.
Meet document control requirements including lab notebook, protocol, report, and change order requirements in accordance with company procedures.
Participate in the generation of Design Control activities and deliverables including Product
Specifications, Risk Management, Design Verification and Validation.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications

M.S. degree in Engineering (Optical, Biomedical or Materials). Ph.D. preferred.
Minimum 5 years of research and development experience for laser based devices.
Knowledge and experience in laser interaction with biological tissues.
Experience with Matlab or other data acquisition and analysis tools.
Dental materials or combination product experience a plus.
Team player who enjoys working in a highly dynamic and cross-disciplinary environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Inside Sales Manager

Position Objectives:

The successful candidate will work closely with representatives on the outside sales team to identify and develop new sales opportunities.  The Inside Sales Manager will conduct research within the assigned territory to identify likely potential buyers of Solea, an all-tissue dental laser that is the company’s flagship product.    Research will be conducted via the internet, telephone and other sources to create a target list of dentists to be contacted via direct mail, telephone and other means in order to initiate a sales process with the outside sales representative.  The successful individual will possess the drive and determination to work through tens or even hundreds of objections and rejections in order to find high-probability prospects that are willing to have an initial discussion with a Convergent Dental outside sales manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Proactively penetrate untapped market to hunt out prospects for new business.
Self-motivated, outside-the-box thinker
Conducts internet research, telephone and mail marketing to identify, develop and qualify customer/ prospect lists
Sell additional warranty/service agreements to current customers that are no longer on a service plan
Maintains all interactions in SalesForce database for prospects in the territory
Responds to incoming calls from prospects as needed to set phone, WebEx and/or in-person meetings for the outside sales manager
Coordinate with other Inside Sales Managers who are located remotely to help connect them with the different departments and resources at corporate

Minimum Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of inside sales experience
Energetic, driven, organized and self-motivated
Strong sales skills, highly professional and sense of customer focus
Persuasive closer
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
